Every great clinic is shaped by the people who care within it, and our Practice Manager, Gareth Wilson, is one of the guiding hands who helps My Family Vet feel like home.

A Career Built on Care and Community

Gareth has been part of the veterinary world since 2005, gaining experience across an incredible range of settings. He began his career at the Animal Welfare League, supporting rescue animals and adoption services. From there he moved into specialist veterinary work, where he progressed to Head Nurse in a busy hospital.

His journey then took him into general practice management and later into emergency nursing in a high paced Emergency Centre. Each role strengthened his skills, but one thing always stood out. He loved being part of the everyday moments that matter to families and their pets.

Creating a Practice with Heart

Gareth, together with Louise and Charlotte, spent years working toward a shared dream. They wanted to create a warm, high quality veterinary practice that felt friendly, familiar and grounded in genuine care. The journey to opening My Family Vet was big, rewarding and filled with teamwork, and Gareth is proud of what the clinic has become.

His passion lies in general practice, where long term relationships are built and where care extends beyond treatment. “It’s not just about the pet. It’s also about the amazing humans who open their hearts and homes to these precious little critters,” he says.

Life Beyond the Clinic

Outside of work, Gareth enjoys spending time with his own four legged family members. His home includes Piper the sweet dog, Jordy the big ginger cat and Wednesday the shy Sphynx. They share the house with Gareth’s wife and three children, who adore the pets just as much as he does.
